TiVo StopWatch Results Announced.
TiVo, the DVR company is out with news. The Top Commercial and Program Rankings for July 2008 are out. This is as per the viewing of TiVo subscribers. Many cable networks which include Lifetime and TNT were able to give us the Timeshifted and Total resuts for the Top 10 commercial and program lists. It seems So You Think You Can Dance – July 16 episode was the most watched program for both Timeshifted viewers and Total viewers.
There is a gap the broadcast networks have overseen, perhaps and this is exploited by cable networks. This is the summer hiatus resulting in repeats. This according to Todd Juenger, VP and GM, TiVo Audience Research and Measurement. Viewership for top cable programs rises, but also there is a change in viewership – many people changing to watch on a Timeshifted basis.
Over fifty percent of cable programs watched in July was Timeshifted. Interestingly of the top 10 commercials, six ran during the Major League Baseball All Star Game. However the game was not placed among the top 10 programs. This program was watched live by most viewers like other sporting events, that is why the commercials were not fast forwarded.
