Tivo Poll: Father’s being Fishy?

The next time you see your father squirming in his lounger and complaining about the silly things you watch and also put him through, pay no heed. Believe it or not, he enjoys those shows as much as you do but would rather eat his own arm off then admit it.

 Just recently, TiVo polled over 700 dads from all across the country and quizzed them on what shows they secretly adore watching but only just pretend to be hating the experience, when watching them with their family members. So while the quintessential male ego would not let them admit it, the Poll revealed that fathers relished watching doctors get up-close and personal inside cleaning closets, celebrities groove to the music and spoilt private school teenagers glued to their mobile phones.

   

Toping the list was “Dancing with the Stars” where the dads confessed to enjoying the competition, dance and drama on the dance floor. Apart from reality shows, ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” has fathers groping for the remote control. The constant breaking-up and patching-up of Derek aka McDreamy and Meredith,Cristina’s ruthless ambition, George’s humble brilliance, Izzy’s histrionics and the ensuing hospital drama is a must watch with the dads.

 TiVo’s Poll established that dads have quite a thing for the ladies at Wisteria Lane too. Coming up at number three, “Desperate Housewives” has one-fourth of the daddy population hooked on to it. The suburbs with their pretence of a perfect living space but actually engulfed in chains of murder, mystery along with the domestic drama keep the fathers engrossed. No wonder daddy loves his TiVo.Now you know what serials he is recording behind your back.
