TiVo Netflix

Netflix and TiVo have made a pretty offensive push with their new announcement. According to the announcement, TiVo will stream movies from Netflix. This is being touted as a smart move. It works well for both Netflix and Tivo as companies are in a war of wits on how best to deliver movies to the TV rather than to the PC.

According to Scott Devitt of Stifel Nicolaus this offering is limited to TiVo HD XL, TiVo HD and TiVo Series 3 subscribers. However most TiVo customers have the Series 2 box or one below that. This means that a trade up is in order to avail of the new service.
Even though the economy is not right up today, people might still want to splurge a little to save money in the long run. Get your own house set up for home entertainment and forget about going to the movies – xcept of course the ones your just can’t miss on the big screen.
