The lifetime service plan, once popular with TiVo customers is coming back. TiVo Inc. is using this to make the most of the coming holiday season. Many current customers find the cost of TiVo prohibitive.

At present there is a monthly service charge along with the cable service charge which needs to be paid. TiVo is back in the running as a popular product now that it seems DVR’s are going to be made incapable of skipping commercials.

Customers are touted to benefit from TiVo’s lifetime service plan. Currently the monthly plan works out to $ 16.95 every month. If you opt for three year prepaid it will cost you $299. The lifetime plan on the other hand is worth $399.

TiVo is currently the leader in sales of viewing trends to advertisers. Now TiVo is going to sell demographic information of viewers like ages, income, ethnicity and marital status.
