TiVO Desktop 2.7 is out

The streets are buzzing with the news that TiVo Desktop 2.7 is out. There are many enhancements in this Windows Update. The Desktop now works much more like TiVo. The number of transferred shows that are kept on your PC can now be specified. This is an important feature that has been long sought after – if you want high definition content and have limited storage then this feature will make you really happy.

You can also now browse previously transferred shows in folders on the TiVo. Those who have paid for plus functionality, there seems to be an upgraded codec package. More file formats and containers have been transferred and transcoded from PC to TiVo for playback. If you are on a budget maybe you should continue using pyTiVo.
This new TiVO package has a great new level of automation. You can subscribe to video podcasts via iTunes. You can let TiVo desktop monitor a folder. The transfering and transcoding is automatic (or automagic as they are calling it).

These are good features to own. Slowly we enter the uber modern television age.
