Doctor’s TiVo
Unifield Medical Informatics is a startup medical technology company. Unfortunately local investors have not invested in it. This has resulted in solicitation of outside funds by the company. There is an interesting project it is working on. This company is looking for funds to develop “TiVo for doctors’ offices”
TiVo, of course is the DVR that lets consumers transfer recordings to computers and other electronic devices. In addition it also lets you access online services and record television programs. Dr. Sanjay Udoshi, the managing director of Unified Medical Informatics said that an all in one box is envisioned by them. It would merge the functioning of various aspects of the medical profession that are performed separately now.
These functions could be managing and accessing medical records of patients or providing office support. People who are in favor of electronic records say that this reduces the chance of error as well as reduces cost. Locally Udoshi has been unable to sell this idea since investors are concentrating more on existing industries.
However Udoshi is still strongly behind the idea. He believes it is a powerful idea with great value. Udoshi says he will enter the market at the level of the doctory.
