You may now be forced to watch commercials even on your TiVo amidst steps being taken to solve what is being called commercial avoidance. According to Tom Rogers, head of TiVo Inc. the recent deal with NBC Universal is a big step towards solving “commercial avoidance”
Rogers made this statement in an investor meeting. In November, a multiyear partnership was announced between NBC and TiVo. A part of this partnership was interactive advertising targeted at consumers who skipped advertising. NBC also was to subscribe to TiVo’s commercial ratings service.

A Product Is Finally Born Out Of The Comcast TiVo Partnership

It was two years ago that Comcast and TiVo announced a partnership. Nothing came out of that partnership uptil now. Mr Steve Garfield who lives in Boston has finally got his hands on a Comcast-TiVo box.
The problem for him is that he is the only one who owns one of these boxes. As a result there is virtually no support for him available. As soon as more of these boxes are out, there will be better after sales support and I know I would like to be the owner of one of these boxes.
